Countdowns & Timers

Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Countdowns & Timers handles your data when you use the app on iPhone, iPad, widgets, and Live Activities.

Effective date: May 22, 2026

Overview

Countdowns & Timers is designed to work primarily on-device. You can create countdowns and timers without creating an account. The app requests access to system data only for features you choose to use, such as importing calendar events or reminders, scheduling local alerts, and showing widget or Live Activity content.

Data stored on your device

The app stores countdowns, timers, category choices, appearance settings, and related preferences on your device. A shared app group is also used so widgets and Live Activities can read the relevant countdown and timer data they need to display current information.

This locally stored information is controlled by you through your use of the app and can be removed by deleting items in the app or uninstalling it.

Calendar and reminders access

If you choose to import events or reminders, the app requests permission through Apple's EventKit system.

  • Calendar access is used to read upcoming events that you may want to convert into countdowns.
  • Reminders access is used to read reminders that you may want to convert into countdowns.
  • The app requests this access only when you use the import feature.

The app does not require calendar or reminders access to perform basic countdown or timer functions. You can revoke these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Notifications, alarms, widgets, and Live Activities

When you enable alerts or run timers, the app may schedule local notifications on your device. On supported systems, timer experiences may use AlarmKit, Live Activities, and Dynamic Island presentation to keep active timers visible and to play a completion sound when they end.

Widgets and Live Activities display the countdown or timer information that you selected in the app. This information is read from shared local storage and shown on system surfaces such as the Home Screen, Lock Screen, and Dynamic Island.

Subscriptions and purchases

Countdowns & Timers uses Apple's in-app purchase system for subscription products and uses Adapty to manage paywall configuration and subscription entitlements.

  • Apple processes payment details directly under Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
  • Adapty may process subscription-related identifiers and entitlement information so the app can determine what purchase access is active.
  • The app does not use third-party advertising SDKs.

You can review Adapty's privacy information at adapty.io/privacy.

No separate account system

The app does not require you to create a separate Countdowns & Timers account. If you do not purchase a subscription, basic app usage remains tied to your device and Apple's system services only.

Your choices

You can control permissions for calendars, reminders, and notifications from iOS Settings. You can also remove countdowns, timers, and imported items inside the app. If you no longer want locally stored data available through widgets or Live Activities, remove the underlying item from the app or uninstall the app.
