Who is responsible?
Speakrin is provided by Antoine Barrault. For privacy questions or requests about information you send to support, email [email protected].
Scripts and settings
The app stores scripts you create or import, titles, library information, reading preferences, and guided-introduction progress on your device. It processes this information to provide the features you use. It does not require a name, email address, profile, or account to use the app.
Microphone and speech recognition
When you enable voice tracking or voice-triggered theater rehearsal, Speakrin uses the microphone with your permission and processes speech on the device through Apple’s speech frameworks. The script may be supplied locally as vocabulary context to improve recognition. The current app has no server-based speech recognition fallback.
A language model may need to be downloaded through Apple’s system services before first use. Voice-tracking audio is not saved as a recording. Recognized words and the session transcript are held temporarily for the reading session and summary, and are reset for the next pass. Recognition depends on the device and language.
Videos and recorded dialogue
If you deliberately start a video recording, the app saves the camera image and microphone audio together in a local video file. If you record theater dialogue, the app saves local audio takes associated with the script. These are separate from temporary voice tracking. Pausing the teleprompter does not stop an active video or its audio recording.
Video takes are kept in the app and are not automatically copied to Photos. The app does not upload videos or recorded dialogue to a developer-operated service. You can revoke camera and microphone access in your device’s Settings; features requiring those permissions will then be unavailable.
Retention and deletion
Scripts and recordings remain in the app’s local storage until removed. Deleting a script also removes its associated recorded theater lines; video takes are separate. Deleting the app through the system’s Delete App option removes its local app container. Offloading the app preserves its data.
Shared or exported copies, source documents, and device backups are not deleted by removing a script or the app. You control those copies separately. The developer cannot access, recover, or remotely erase the library on your device.
Tracking and diagnostics
Speakrin does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking SDKs. It does not sell app data or share it for targeted advertising. If you enable Apple’s sharing of app diagnostics, Apple may provide crash or diagnostic reports under its own settings and privacy practices; Speakrin does not run a separate analytics service.
If you contact support
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any details or attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond, investigate your issue, and follow up when needed. Our email provider processes message delivery and storage. Please do not send private scripts, recordings, or sensitive information unless needed for the request.
We retain support correspondence only as long as necessary for the request and related follow-up or legal requirements. Where applicable, our legitimate interest in responding to support requests is the basis for this processing. We do not use these messages for advertising or sell them.
Visiting these web pages
These pages are hosted on GitHub Pages. Hosting providers process technical request information, such as IP addresses, browser details, and request times, to deliver and secure the site. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
These Speakrin pages do not include analytics, advertising, contact forms, or tracking cookies. Fonts and images are served from the same site. If you change the color theme, a local browser preference named theme remembers your choice; you can clear it in your browser’s site data settings. Email links open your chosen mail app.
Your choices and rights
You control app permissions, local files, sharing, and device backups. For personal information you send to support, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy where applicable by emailing [email protected]. These requests do not give us access to files stored only on your device.
You may also contact your local data protection authority. In France, the CNIL explains your data protection rights.
Children and family use
The app does not ask for a child’s name, age, or account. A parent or guardian can contact us if a child has sent personal information to support. The same on-device processing described above applies to all users.
Changes to this policy
If Speakrin’s handling of information changes, this page will be updated with a new revision date. The French and US English versions describe the same practices.
