Start with your own words
How do I open the teleprompter?
Complete the introduction, or choose Aller à ma bibliothèque. Tap Lire on a sample script. You can also open a script in the editor and select Ouvrir le prompteur. Use the play control to begin.
To create your own text, start a new script, enter a title and the text, then choose Enregistrer. The guide is available again from Découvrir Speakrin.
Can I use English scripts?
The app’s menus and guide are currently in French. You can write or import English scripts and scenes. Voice tracking depends on the languages supported by your device; scene partner voices depend on the installed Apple voices. Speakrin does not translate your scripts.
Which devices do I need?
Speakrin requires iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later. Voice tracking needs a compatible device and script language. The first use may require an internet connection to download a language model. Fixed-speed scrolling works without voice recognition.
Let the text follow
The microphone or voice tracking is not working.
Check Speakrin’s microphone permission in your device’s Settings. Close other apps using the microphone, return to Speakrin, and try playback again. If a language download is in progress, let it finish with an internet connection.
Read the displayed text clearly in a quiet setting. If the device or language is unsupported, turn off Suivre ma voix with the waveform control, or choose Utiliser la vitesse fixe.
How do I return to a word or change the speed?
Tap a word to place its line at the reading guide and pause. Voice tracking resumes from that word. In Réglages de lecture, turn off Suivre ma voix to adjust the fixed scrolling speed.
You can also change text size, alignment, the reading guide, countdown, and horizontal or vertical mirroring. A compatible Bluetooth keyboard supports Space to play or pause, R to restart, and V to toggle voice tracking.
Keep the camera rolling
How do I record and find a video?
In the teleprompter, tap the camera icon (Filmer ma lecture) and allow camera and microphone access. Choose the front or rear camera, then tap Filmer. Start the teleprompter separately.
Tap Arrêter to finish, then wait for the recording to finalize. Open Mes vidéos to watch or share it. Videos are stored in the app and are not automatically added to Photos.
Will pausing the text stop the video?
No. Pausing the teleprompter leaves the video and its audio recording. Tap Arrêter to end the take. Closing the teleprompter or moving the app to the background also ends the current take.
What does the session summary measure?
Terminer et analyser shows reading time and voluntary pauses. Voice tracking may also show average speaking pace and an estimated match to your script. Recognition errors can affect the estimate; it does not grade delivery or intonation. The summary is temporary and resets when you start another pass.
Give the scene a voice
How should I format a scene?
Choose Nouvelle scène de théâtre to start with an editable example. Each speech must begin with the character name and a colon. Use at least two characters:
Alex: Did you hear that?
Sam: Yes. It came from the garden.
Alex: Let’s take a look.
Open Mode théâtre, choose your role, and tap Commencer la répétition. You can disable Enchaîner avec ma voix to advance manually.
Can I use real recorded voices?
In the scene setup, open Enregistrer les répliques. Select a character and record each line. You can listen again, replace a take, or delete it. Enable Utiliser les voix enregistrées to hear these takes for the other roles.
If a take is missing, unreadable, or its dialogue has changed, Speakrin uses an installed Apple voice. You can download additional voices in your device’s accessibility settings.
Keep your work with you
Which files can I import?
Use Importer un texte in the library. TXT files must use UTF-8 and be no larger than 2 MB. PDFs and EPUBs must be no larger than 20 MB. PDFs need selectable text and must not be password-protected. Scans without selectable text and protected or incompatible EPUBs cannot be imported.
Speakrin extracts text for editing; it does not preserve the original page layout or automatically turn every imported document into a formatted theater scene.
Where is my data, and how do I delete it?
Your library and recordings are local to the app. Delete a script from its menu to remove it and its associated recorded theater lines. Video takes are stored separately. To remove all app data, use Delete App in your device’s Settings; offloading the app keeps its data.
Exported files and Apple device backups are separate copies that you manage yourself. There is no Speakrin account or developer-operated sync service. Read the privacy policy for details.
